There are numerous kinds of sensory issues, but today I want to concentrate on how these issues impact the clothes I wear and my daily life. Personally, I've begun to notice a link between experiencing meltdowns or feeling overwhelmed and then struggling with sensory issues in the following week or so.
Impact of Sensory Issues on Me
For me, sensory issues go well beyond a shirt feeling uncomfortable or a tag itching my neck. They can be exhausting not only physically, from trying on numerous outfits, but also emotionally draining. It's challenging when you try on so many different outfits and none feel right. Often, this leads me to spend the day in my pajamas. I spend a lot of time at home, so it's fine if I stay in my pajamas all day. However, it's honestly a bit embarrassing, and it also makes it difficult to be productive and create content for social media.
How Sensory Issues Affect My Clothing Choices
I dislike when shirts come into contact with my neck and when I can feel the seams of my clothes. I also absolutely hate polyester materials. These things constantly irritate me. On particularly bad sensory days, these issues are magnified a thousand times. I truly can't stand how certain fabrics feel on my skin, so everything needs to be very loose-fitting. I absolutely love these lounge pants. I wear them all the time!! And for shirts I really love this shirt!! It's really loose-fitting and comfortable.

After posting this, I had another realization. I've been experiencing headaches on and off this week due to the changing weather, and I've particularly noticed more sensory issues than usual this week. I believe there is definitely a connection between the two.
